The rush to release elctric vehicles continues, with Yamaha showing off its new electric bike the EC-03 at the recent INTERMOT motorcycle show in Cologne.

The EC-03 has a choice of two motor modes. When riders need to boost their speed, they can switch from Standard mode to a special Power mode at the touch of a button.

Due to its lightweight build and slim proportions, the EC-03 can also be carried in a car or caravan.

The EC-03 will be in Yamaha dealers throughout Europe from the beginning of 2011.

At the recent INTERMOT Cologne motorcycle show Yamaha showed off its conceptual Worldcrosser based on their Super Ténéré. With the addition of a few specialist components and the replacement of some of the standard parts the bike really looks like it could take you round the world. Unfortunately Yamaha do not have any plans to put it in to production. For UK fans of the Super Ténéré, the Worldcrosser will be shown at the forth coming Carol Nash Motorcycle Live Show at the NEC starting on Saturday 27th November.
